Dr. Annette Vielleux

Wisconsin

WI-3365-57 Clinical Psychologist; ASCH Level 2 Clinical Hypnosis Certification

she/her

I'm a licensed psychologist in the state of Wisconsin.  I've been in practice since 2014 when I graduated with my Psy.D. from the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology.  I took my first class on dissociation in 2009 and found my calling. I wrote my dissertation on assessing dissociative disorders in children and read tons of research on dissociative disorders in the process of writing my dissertation.  When I finally graduated, I got into practice with my mentor, Dr. Rick Hohfeler, a long-time board member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-D).  He has sent many referrals my way over the past 9+ years and I am grateful for that because I've gained a wealth of experience working with folks who dissociate who come from many walks of life.  I still work with Dr. H, but now I'm venturing out on my own, in my private practice, looking for folks who are ready to work on their trauma and better understand their dissociative experiences.  I love immersing myself in ISST-D trainings and find the learning in the area of trauma and dissociation to be never-ending.  My confidence in working with folks who dissociate has grown over the years, thanks to the ISST-D and Dr. Hohfeler and to all the amazing clients I've had the honor to work with and who have put their trust in me.  If you are in Wisconsin, I have immediate openings.  If you are not in Wisconsin, I plan on applying for PSYPACT, which will allow me to see clients in 40+ states via telehealth.  I'll update my profile here when that is official.  In the meantime, please reach out if you are interested in scheduling a consultation.  If you live in a PSYPACT state and are interested in working with me I can put you on a waiting list.  I can't wait to hear from you!

Treatment Approach

I use a relational, affect-theory based, attachment-theory based, psychodynamic, three-phase approach in treatment. The three phases are stabilization, trauma-processing and integration. The three phases are highly individualized and generally work towards improved inner communication and cooperation. I follow ISST-D treatment guidelines in working with my clients and attend various trainings by them regularly. I incorporate clinical hypnosis into my practice for anxiety management/relaxation, trauma processing, as well as exploring of one\'s inner-head space. I focus a lot on exploring a person\'s subjective experience (asking what is it like for you to...?) and we explore how childhood experiences and adaptations to those experiences are affecting a person\'s life now.
