Treatment Approach:
I consider functional multiplicity one of the main treatment goals for a system living with DID. This means for the alters/parts to be able to cooperate and work well together for the wellbeing of everyone in the system. This also means the goal is not to make parts \"go away\", but rather to accept each other and collaborate in a functional way. I utilize parts work approach pulling from the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) and Rachel Walker\'s trainings. I am certified in EMDR, which is an evidence-based modality for trauma and PTSD treatment. My approach is to build acceptance, understanding, and awareness to their parts and the importance of engaging compassionately and kindly with parts. My approach with the whole system of parts is to support the parts in getting their needs met, get to know one another in a safe way, and ultimately process trauma.
