she/her

Hi there! I am a licensed mental health counselor in North Carolina. I specialize in working with complex trauma and dissociative disorders. I have experience working with RAMCOA as well and prefer working in person over virtual. I believe that dissociation is a helpful survival tool that often outlives its usefulness. In my work with client's with trauma, I focus first on establishing safety both internally and externally. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship is more than just a place to vent or learn skills, it's a healing environment and practice field for trying on new messages about your identity (collectively), value and worth through the eyes of someone that sees you (all), believes in you (all) and cares. If you are interested in beginning this journey of healing and would like to see if we are a good fit, please email me. I can often "make room" in my schedule even if my front office staff say I'm full. :) If I don't take your insurance, our office has a "scholarship" program that adjusts our fee based on your income and requested assistance. This program has to be renewed regularly but please don't let that intimidate you- it's just a simple form showing your income and expenses- as long as nothing changes you can just keep submitting the same form and we'll most likely continue to approve it. One final note, I do work for a Christian organization- but I want you to know that I do not ever push my beliefs on my clients and I am very much aware that religious abuse may be part of your story. I am sensitive to this and only include spiritual discussions at your leading.

Treatment Approach

I take a person centered approach to therapy and when working with dissociative disorders that might mean I have a different approach for each part! :) I firmly believe that each of your parts are deserving of individual care and attention and healing. I am trained in EMDR but honestly I am very slow about utilizing it as I believe the first foundation of treatment should be focused on establishing a relationship between us that can allow for trust, safety and a place to engage in a healthy attachment.
