Cynthia earned her Clinical Doctor of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Pennsylvania. She has been practicing clinical social work for over eighteen years with a focus on work with persons who have experienced complex trauma, childhood abuse and neglect, sexual violence and abuse, dissociative adaptations, persons in varying stages of recovery from substance misuse, attachment, survivors of cults/high control groups, chronic medical concerns, IPV, and persons of queer and trans/non-binary/gender diverse identities. Cynthia is a member of the Clinical Social Work Association, the International Cultic Studies Association, the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Philadelphia Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology. Finally, Cynthia completed the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia's post graduate training program in 2007, the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia’s adult psychodynamic psychotherapy post graduate training program in 2012, and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation professional training program in 2022. Additionally, she has been trained in EMDR and has completed ASCH Level I training in clinical hypnosis.
