Pre-Licensed
My name is Amanda Lee and I’m a therapist (Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate) living near Denver, CO. I specialize in “complex” mental health issues, which is a fancy way of saying I take care of people who have multiple things going on - neurodivergence, chronic illness, personality disorders, chronic suicidality, and life changes. I also specialize in LGBTQIA+ issues, specifically working with the transgender and gender-expansive community, and the nerd/geek community, especially around video games, tabletop, and roleplaying. I have experience with several alternative communities, including the furry and kink community. I've had the honor to be the therapist of multiple people who experience plurality, including those who are polyfragmented and co-conscious. While I know some of the lingo related to multiplicity and plurality, I know that each system I get to know is their own unique experience and I would be honored to be a companion in the journey that is discovering you all. I consider myself a gentle, curious, and firm therapist. I’m going to tell you how it is, we’re going to explore how we got here, and we’re going to look at what’s actually going on. Together. I do want to mention that I do not have lived experience as a plural system. I am a singlet. I do have lived experience as a second-generation Chinese-American, as a queer ciswoman, as a polytheist/pagan, and as an individual in a polyamorous relationship.
Treatment Approach
Person-Centered/Narrative with Psychoanalytic Psychodynamic underpinnings, using CBT/DBT/ACT skills as needed. I am EMDR-trained but cautious about its application.
